Business Value: A Dashboard application that plots the probabilistic ETC/EAC using statistical modeling of past performance, risk and SRA results by each WBS element that can be compared to the latest revised estimate (LRE). Proteus Envision EAC Probability workspaces allow organizations to generate probabilistic Estimate at Complete (EAC) and Estimate to Complete (ETC) S-Curves for their projects and programs, with visibility down the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) or Organizational Breakdown Structure (OBS) of the major drivers. This probabilistic range of calculated ETC and EAC can be compared against the project’s Latest Revised Estimate (LRE), 3-point EAC estimates, Government EAC (GEAC) and used in bottoms up EAC analysis. Rather than the traditional method of calculating a single point EAC of X amount or a three-point range of N values, with the Proteus Envision EAC Analysis one can say there’s an 80% chance of hitting an EAC, with an evaluation of the range falling within probability.
Key Operational Functions:
- Visualization of Level 1 EAC/ETC Probability S-Curve with UB and MR included or excluded.
- Shows three S-curves: one derived from earned value performance data, from schedule risk assessment three-point duration data for LOE burn-rate, and from risk and opportunity register data.
- Illustrates single-point estimates for current period BC, ML, WC EACs/ETCs based on EVM data, and BAC for comparison purposes.
- The S-curve projects EAC/ETC values by probability across the curve. The three method-of-moment aggregated S-curves provide a range of EAC/ETC values at any selected level of probability.
- Spreadsheet-type visualization (which can be used for export) illustrates the data across the curves.
- Drill-down to any level of the WBS also provides S-curves and data for each selected element.
- Elements flagged for risk-and-opportunity register data assigned for modeling as well as those that are LOE.
- Visualizes trend analysis of consecutive probabilistic S-curves.
